Department of Agriculture , Government of Sikkim aims at creating a statewide unified farmer database in
the name of
Sikkim - Agriculture Resource Management System (ARMS) which will help in achieving the
below mentioned objectives:
- Provided unified database for scheme delivery
- Registration of the Farmer
- Unique Farmer ID (Kishan Parichai Patra)
- Farms Details, Farmers details
- Co-farmers info including name, Dob, Pan Card No, Identity Card No
- Number of farming lands with geo mapping and area of the land
- The irrigation methods and soil type of individual lands.
- Number of time farming capabilities in a year
- Type of crops & vegetables grown in individual land.
- Max capacity of production of Crops & Vegetables in a calendar year
- Ease in policy formulation and decision making due to availability of consolidated farmer level
information at the state level
- Reduction in time, cost and error to estimate the number of beneficiaries for a scheme
- Facilitating centralized mechanism to check eligibility for a particular scheme/ service to ease
Farmer authentication with lesser documents requirements to prevent any leakages in the system
- Online beneficiary Tracking : Transparent identification of most desirable beneficiaries and tracking
the impacts of benefits accrued
- Providing centralized advisory information to farmers on the state and central scheme
- This Centralized Farmers Database shall be useful for various activities like issuing soil health
cards, dissemination of crop advisories to the farmers, precision farming, smart cards for farmers to
facilitate e-governance, crop insurance, settlement of compensation- claims, grant of agricultural
subsidies, community/village resource centres etc.
